A Blacksmith makes a variety of objects from Steel (originally Wrought Iron) by heating it to red heat on a Forge such that the steel becomes Malleable enough to be formed into the shapes required.

The Forge may be fired by burning Charcoal or Coke or may be Gas Fired.

The Steel is heated to a bright Red Heat (appoximately 1000°C to 1200°C) and greater than this if the workpiece is to be Fire Welded
