Topics and Themes are used most commonly (but not necessarily exclusively!) in Primary Education as a device to integrate learning across a broad range of subject areas.


Projects are taken to be the structured practical activities through which Design and Technology knowledge, skills and understanding is normally taught in UK secondary schools.


Tasks are considered here to be short practical activities designed to introduce a particular skill or concept.
