Choose a suitable Kite design and make one which will not only fly, but also perform some other function {e.g. to take an overhead photograph or to parachute soft toys on to a ground target as part of a game).

Alternatively, explore some Kite applications by typing key words into a Search Engine to find out about them.

For example:

  • Find out a method of determining how high the kite is flying.
  • Make your kite produce a sound when airborne.
  • Use a Kite to generate energy.
  • Devise a way of dropping a parachute or launching a glider from the kite.
  • Find out the maximum payload kites can lift and establish if this can be predicted.
  • Use a kite for aerial photography.
  • Devise a method of measuring wind speed.
  • Try flying a ‘train’ of kites.
  • Design a kite flying game
  • Design a launching reel or winch.
