This package forms a simple carton with a lip all around its top edge. Such cartons are often used for carrying fruit and vegetables, because the lip helps stop loose rounded objects from falling out.

Often the package will be seen with holes punched into the sides to allow air to get at the produce inside.

The package is usually stapled together.
