Description
An exercise in pencil control to show how varying a few bold flowing lines can define a car shape.
"It ought to be possible to represent any well designed car by just 3 lines" . . . their position plus variations in line thickness should enable the car to be recognised.
- Collect images of cars and make a list of what they are . . . . about 5 different cars would be OK
- Either by observation or by tracing over the images, try to define each body shape with just 3 lines to produce a sheet of line drawings.
- Give each representation a number and, on the same sheet, add a jumbled list of the car types.
- Ask others to try and match the right name to each body shape . . . . . how many did you score?
