Vertical Panel Saws are becoming increasingly popular in schools - they take up less floor space and are considered safer because of the totally enclosed blade.
They are best at cutting large rectangles but, if combined with a Chop Saw or Radial Arm Saw for smaller work, most of the tasks required in a school D&T workshop can be accomplished.
Safety Point! Students should not use circular sawing machines.
