Table Saws or Bench Saws are one of the most common wood cutting machines. They are used as both ripsaw and crosscut saw with Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT) blades to suit each task or, more commonly, a general purpose blade to do both.
The blades can be raised or lowered and tilted to perform a variety of tasks such as rebating and grooving but only if appropriate special guarding is fitted.
Dimension Saws are similar but have table extensions to support large sheets.
Safety Point! Table Saws should not be used by students and only staff who have received appropriate and certified training from a qualified instructor.
