Description

The lounge or living room is where most people position TV, video, record, cassette or CD players and, increasingly, perhaps the home computer.

Considerations

Start by deciding which of these pieces of equipment you wish to place in the lounge and which can go in other rooms. You need also to decide whether all of them will be grouped together, to form a home entertainment centre, or if some should be placed in different parts of the room.

Remember that many of these pieces of equipment also have associated items which need storage.

Although often placed all together in a corner, there is no reason why your home entertainment equipment should not be housed around a purpose designed room centre unit or on a room storage partition, especially if you wish to make a strong feature of it.

Speakers should be opposite where you sit and about 2 to 3 metres apart. They are usually positioned on the floor but can also be wall mounted. Small bookcase speakers are also available.
