Description

Radial Arm Saws were invented by Raymond DeWalt in 1922. They are similar to a Chop Saw but with a sliding motion rather than a swinging arm.


Features and Applications

It is used mainly as a Crosscut Saw, but it can also be used as a Ripsaw or to cut bevels and mitres, housings, tenons, grooves and rebates.


Safety Point! Students may only use a Chop Saw or Radial Arm Saw when they have been assessed and the assessment shows that they are competent, and are under appropriate supervision of specifically trained staff.
