Children enjoy making things. In doing so they can acquire fine motor skills, develop spacial awareness, use and acquire knowledge from other subject areas, learn to persevere - and a have fun!

'Cutting and sticking' are basic skils and from a very young age, children should be able to hold a pencil to draw a line, then hold a pair scissors and cut to it.

Using only a few additional skills and techniques, together with some everyday materials and 'found materials', children can work in safety to produce an almost limitless variety of constructions and working models to enrich their learning generally.
