Reamers are used to enlarge previously drilled holes with a high degree of accuracy. They have a series of cutting blades along their length and can be either Hand Reamers, operated with a Tap Wrench, or Machine Reamers which are driven be a Centre Lathe, Milling Machine or Drill Press.

Tapered Reamers can be used to shape holes drilled to receive Taper Pins or Cotter Pins and Morse Taper Reamers are used to finish holes bored to receive Taper Shank drills for example.

Expanding Reamers are adjustable over a small range of sizes and are used to take light cuts to bring a hole accurately to size to fit an existing shaft or spindle for example.
